The Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Football Referees (SLSRFR) is delighted to announce the appointment of Experienced rugby Referee Ishanka Abeykoon as a match official at the Asia Rugby Women’s Championship 2025.
A few days ago, Asia Rugby confirmed the match officials for the upcoming Asia Rugby Women’s Championship 2025 game between Japan and Kazakhstan, and the experienced referee from the hill country will feature in the capacity of an assistant referee. The match will be taking place on Thursday, 15th May 2025, at Japan Base Rugby Stadium, Fukuoka, Japan.
Frequent assignment of Sri Lankan referees to conduct international duties can be considered as a testament to the development and the quality of local referees. Under the previous and the incumbent committee of SLSRFR, numerous workshops were carried out involving the world’s leading rugby referee educators, and the results of the efforts are clearly visible.
