The Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Football Referees (SLSRFR) are all in readiness to take center stage as they prepare to officiate at the Warriors 7’s which is to be held on the 30th & 31st Oct, at Police Park. Six (6) clubs will lock horns battling it out for the trophy as rugby returns following a lapse of nearly 2-years.
SLSRFR, headed by Dinka Peiris, mentioned that his referee’s team is well prepared & ready at full strength. He thanked all those behind the scene who has paved the way for these arrangements of getting the referee’s fit, updated with new laws, weekly online educational workshops & thanked Mr. Dilroy, Mr. Rohan, Mr. Nilco on Education, Strenght & Conditioning (S&C) respectively. Peiris, further said it was his committee who had given the blessing to conduct all these sessions as the vision of the SLSRFR is “to be the best we can be”.
For this tournament the team selected is under a Bio – Bubble and all tested negative and had to go through all the health guidelines laid and under the direction of Dr. Kalinga Ginige.
The team is led by Anil Jayasinghe as the Manager, Dinka Peiris – CMO, Rohan Fernando will play a dual role as CMO, S&C coach.
Match Officials will be Most Senior Referee Priyantha Gunarathne, Aaqil Jamaldeen, Dilum Deeshana, Hasantha Weeranga, Ishanka Abeyakoon, Isuru Perera, Gihan Yatawara, Ravindra Alexander, Deepal Punayawardena, Pradeep Indika, Madhawa Wijesiri, Nilco Bandara, Mohamed Azeez, Chamara Siyabalapitiya, Anil Mangala, Rajith Kumara.
