President's Message

Dear Members and Rugby Community,

It is with great pride and responsibility that I extend this message as President of the Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Football Referees. Our referees are the guardians of the game, entrusted with upholding integrity, fairness, and professionalism at every level of competition.

The strategic plan we launch today is more than a roadmap—it is a bold vision to elevate Sri Lankan refereeing to global standards. Through the establishment of a National Referee Academy, technology-driven innovation, and transparent governance reforms, we are laying the foundation for excellence and credibility.

Equally important is our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Refereeing must reflect the richness of our nation—welcoming talent from every province, school, and community, and ensuring equal opportunities for men, women, and youth to thrive in officiating. By nurturing grassroots engagement and scholarships, we open doors for the next generation of referees, regardless of background.

Our rebranding efforts will position referees not only as officials but as symbols of integrity and professionalism. With strong sponsorships, digital storytelling, and global partnerships, we aim to showcase Sri Lankan referees on the international stage.

This journey is ambitious, but it is achievable. Together—with referees, administrators, schools, clubs, and supporters—we will transform our refereeing ecosystem into one that is respected, inclusive, and globally recognized.
